Mika’s Daydreaming Theater is a 2008 photobook by Japanese photographer and filmmaker Mika Ninagawa. Known for her vivid use of color and theatrical compositions, Ninagawa here presents a dreamlike series that blends staged fantasy with her signature hyper-saturated style.
The book connects to earlier works such as Acid Bloom and Everlasting Flowers, but leans more strongly into narrative, performance-inspired imagery. It was published in conjunction with the exhibition series of the same name, shown at Parco venues across Japan (Tokyo, Sapporo, Nagoya, and Sendai) in 2008, which highlighted Ninagawa’s photography alongside video and installation art.
